Use of Color in Everyday Life

Color is light: Let us be filled with light

Pure White
“The Divine Light”

  • White contains all the colors, in balance and harmony.
  • It has the potential to be any color. As the balance of all colors, The White Light represents a powerful  KIND OF PRACTICAL MAGIC we can use in our everyday lives.
  • WHITE MAGIC -- using magic for good purposes --  can be used to cleanse, repel negativity, bring peace, spiritual strength, truth, purity; heal emotions, and provide protection.

  • Wholeness and Completion:  The manifestation of the presence of all color; the complete energy of light.  ALL or the WHOLE.  Clarity.
  • Cosmic Consciousness: The color of  Spiritual Enlightenment, the Light of Perfection; the Divine Light, Cleansing, Clairvoyance.
  • Openness and Truth: It contains everything.  There is no place to hide.
  • New Beginnings:  Since it holds the potential to move toward every other color, it’s a good choice for a fresh start that can go in any direction.
  • Above Purple: White light is the octave (frequency) above purple. It has always been seen as transcendence, purity, perfection, innocence, chastity, the triumph of spirit over the flesh.
  • Alchemy: Seen as the  feminine principle or highest frequency of thought turning into pure consciousness.
  • White Picket Fence: Surrounds a safe and happy home. (Image from the ‘50s).
  • White Colors: Snow, pearl, antique white, ivory, chalk, milk white, lily, smoke, seashell, alabaster, paper, whitewash.
  • Daisy: White daisies are a symbol of loyal love.
  • Monday: White symbolizes the first day of the week.
(“♪ On Monday morning we wash the clothes. ♪ ”)

  • All Colors: White light contains the entire spectrum.  Strictly speaking, white is not a color, but the manifestation of the presence of all color - the complete energy of light.
  • Cones:  Cones are the color-sensitive nerve receptors in the human eye. White stimulates all three types of cones in the retina in nearly equal amounts. The primary colors of light are red, green and blue. If our cones cannot pick up all three of these, we are “color blind” for those hues we cannot see
  • Associations: The Goddess, the Moon, the Tide, Ebb and Flow,  female energy-Yin and cool and receptive,  soothing, calming,  patience, forbearance, perseverance, insight.
  • Sources of White Light:  The sun, incandescence, fluorescent lamps and light-emitting diodes (LEDs) all generate white light. An object that does not alter the color of light reflected from its surface will appear white, compared to its surroundings.

  • White as the Driven Snow: Pure, clean, innocent.
  • White Knight: Stereotype of the pure, good knight who “rescues the maiden”.
  • White List:  A list of good, acceptable items.
  • White Sale: A sale of linens-they used to be all white.
  • Pearly Whites:  Teeth  that are white and clean.
  • Tiger

    NEGATIVE WHITE  (An Oxymoron)

  • Whitewash: Cover up or conceal.
  • Whiteout:  Zero Visibility.
  • White Flag:  Surrender.
  • White Lightening:  Moonshine, illegal whiskey.
  • White Knuckle:  Fast, exciting, frightening.
  • White Elephant:   Rare, valuable but useless, as in “What am I supposed to do with it?”

    Ivory Carving

  • Crystals:  Six sided quartz crystals reflect rainbows—all the colors.  They transmit energy and are used for purity, in ceremony and healing.
  • White Gemstones: Ruled by the Moon and are associated with sleep and psychic energy.
  • Protection at Night:  White stones can be used for good fortune and protection after dark.
  • Substitute for All Other Stones: Because white contains all the colors, white stones can substitute for stones of any color.

The White Light of Consciousness

“I AM”
  • Chakra Number Seven:  The color is violet, blending into the white light.
  • Location:  The Crown, the top of the head.  The halo, the egg, perfect aura.
  • Spiritually: The seventh chakra is consciousness, the divine.  An open 7th is the path to Enlightenment.  All avatars, spiritual leaders such as Christ, Buddha, Krishna, have open 7th Chakras.
  • Closed at the Seventh: Can lead to brain tumors, seizures, headaches, losing the spiritual path.
  • Essential Oils to Open the Seventh Chakra:  Sandalwood and Frankincense.

A Symbol of Love

  • The Gift of  a White Rose:  Shows, deep, clear, infinite love, devotion, kindness  and deep friendship in love.
  • Queen Victoria: Used white roses at her wedding in 1840. The tradition lives on. White roses carried by modern brides speak of devotion, innocence and purity to their beloved.
  • The White Rose Bud: A bud has not reached full flower.  It symbolizes the pure, the maiden, a girl not yet ready for mature love.  There is elegance and beauty, but it is childlike.

  • Dress and Decorate with White:  Use to clear clutter and obstacles away, start fresh, new beginnings, mental clarity, purification of thoughts or actions.
  • Purification Ceremony:  Clean your space as in “scrub a dub, dub”. Cleanse your body in a bubble (reflects all colors) bath. Dress in flowing white; use white candles and quartz crystals.  Meditate on the clear light.
  • Healing Ceremony: Just about everyone has heard of surrounding people with the "White Light of Healing and Protection.”  Breathe deeply and mentally engulf yourself or another person in a bubble of white light.
  • Blow Soap Bubbles in the Sun:  Watch the rainbows.
